How To Declutter Your Life: 4 Steps To Simple Living

How did it come to the simplest things in life being the most difficult ones to obtain?

It seems like everywhere we go, everything we do, and everything we are is just piling – one thing at a time. At one point, our whole lives seem like they need a little bit of decluttering, right?

We have noticed that lately, simple living has become very popular – and we understand why. If you want to declutter your life, you have come to the right place!

Before we go into our decluttering ideas, you need to know why simple living is that important. It is more than having fewer things in life. It is an entire lifestyle that can lead to more time for yourself and the people you love. It can lead to less stress, more focus, and definitely fewer distractions.

So how to start to declutter your life? Here are the few steps we believe would help!

  1. Start with your space – try to declutter your space – it is usually the first thing that comes to mind anyway when you think of simple living. Start small and sort everything you have into categories. Maybe you could give something away? Sell something, or even throw things that no longer serve you? Organize whatever remains and keep these things in their place.
  2. Move on to your schedule – yes, all of us have a very busy life and schedules, but at what cost? If you feel like you want to declutter your life, you need to start to prioritize where and how you spend your time. Focus on the activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, and release all those meaningless commitments. Embrace a laid-back routine and always schedule some time for yourself. After all, self-care is the pillar of a simple lifestyle.
  3. Only choose things that mean something to you – by this, we mean embracing meaningful relationships. Keep in mind that it is always about quality rather than quantity. Dedicate some time to your family and friends, and the people you love the most. nurture those connections. Be attentive, listen, and remove all technology when you are with them. This will allow for a genuine interaction. Also, it can help you stay present in the moment.
  4. Be thankful – there is nothing better in this life than constantly showing appreciation for what you have. Simple living is based on that – the ability to be grateful for everything you have. If you don’t know where to begin, it is always a good idea to keep a gratitude journal. This way, you will find at least one thing a day you are thankful for. Also, this practice can help you realize that the simplest things in life are all you need to be truly happy!

When you decide to adapt to simple living, it seems like your mindset will start to shift too. These decluttering ideas may only be the beginning for you – but they create a solid foundation upon which you can build a more meaningful and fulfilled life.
