I know – making a bad day better feels like the most grueling work when you’re feeling down. However, with a few mindful shifts and practices, all those stormy, dark clouds that float above your head (or should I say, your mood) will slowly drift away.

1. Accept You’re Having A Bad Day
The hardest part of coping with a bad day is accepting you’re having one. In this case, the best thing you can do is step away for a minute, pause, and take a few deep breaths.
Most importantly, you should know that your worth isn’t tied to when things go south. Setting boundaries with yourself means that you’re not supposed to react to every external trigger.
It’s okay to take a breather. In fact, this is one of the best ways to cope with bad days. When you notice you’re handling more than you can, you’re off to a great start!
2. Clear Your Mind
So, how to feel better when you’re having a bad day? Firstly, ask yourself – what inner thoughts are you paying attention to? Is it the one you always listen to, or the one absorbing everyone’s emotions and thoughts?
A simple mental declutter can clear all of this up. In turn, you’ll know exactly which thoughts belong to you and which need to be filtered out. Once you make this space, you’ll allow yourself to say ‘yes’ to having a good day!
3. Move Your Body Away From What Drains You
You might not be able to fix a bad day, but what you can do to make it better is to move your body away from things that drain you – be it people, exhaustive situations, or stressful tasks.
This is also a certain kind of boundary – when you choose to move yourself from a bad situation, you’re mentally telling yourself that you’re not available for this kind of negative energy. You’ll be surprised how this single action can boost your mood more than you’d expect!
