A question I get asked often is is it really possible to manage stress and pain holistically?

A lot of times a potential client will come to me saying that they are trying not to rely on so-called quick fixes and scary drugs to manage their chronic pain and stress.💊 What I also hear is their doctor has suggested that they try yoga but are intimidated by what they see out there.

What I believe is that they’ve been wondering about what actions they can take to manage their stress and pain naturally but are afraid that success isn’t possible for them.  This vicious circle leaves them feeling uncertain about what the future may hold.

I totally understand how📲social media could make you feel like there simply is no way to manage stress and pain holistically.

Many of these complicated hot and flow yoga classes and videos don’t focus on alignment, nor do they give proper variations to yoga postures, the result is usually overusing, over stressing and over stretching certain muscles, ligaments and tendons which in turn leads to more pain and stress.  Which leads to more frustration.

🧘🏻‍♀️The fact is  many yoga classes, books, magazines and videos don’t work because they ignore that yoga bodies are various ages, sizes and abilities.  We are already overusing, over stressing and over stretching the muscles that many yoga teachers are focusing on, the front of the body.  We are a forward bending society that is constantly sitting, staring at a computer and lifting things the wrong way.  Never mind all the repetitive motions we do with our hands, fingers and wrists.

The internet is filled with all kinds of experts asking for your attention and offering you advice.

I have been practicing yoga and meditation for over 20 years.

It took me some time but I eventually realized yoga isn’t what the mainstream media sells it to be.

It can be easy to understand and incorporate into your lifestyle.😊

When you achieve more peace while also gaining strength and flexibility, you realize the potential for healing inside and out is possible.

It’s all in the mindset.🙌

❤️I'm Jen James of Celestial Yoga, LLC, and a certified yoga and meditation teacher for over 18 years now and am a health and wellness coach too.

My specialty is guiding and teaching techniques to improve my students' lives holistically (personally, professionally, spiritually, in relationships, and more!) through Gentle Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation and Self-Care Techniques to make personal lifestyle changes that stick.

I hope it doesn’t sound boastful to say I’m proud of the results I see in the clients I worked with in person for over 17 years, because if I may be so bold, I think you might be into it, too! 🙋‍♀️

I like to think I’ve stayed in business so long because my methods are proven solid.

Here’s a sweet comment from Sue D. that I taught in person for years:

"I had a total knee replacement almost 5 years ago and had decreased strength and flexibility and turned to yoga to help regain it. I have improved immensely. Jen developed a plan to help me meet my goals. She is knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and fun! I have seen continued improvement in my strength and flexibility since working with her."
